TaCS-CoE Members Presented at RIMS Workshop 2026 in Kyoto, Japan

The Theoretical and Computational Science Center (TaCS-CoE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), highlights the participation of Dr. Parin Chaipunya and Prof. Dr. Poom Kumam in the RIMS Joint Research (Open Type) Workshop “Study on Nonlinear Analysis and Convex Analysis,” held at Maskawa Hall, Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences (RIMS), Kyoto University, Japan, from September 14–16, 2026.

Dr. Parin Chaipunya presented research related to mathematical optimization and energy management, featuring the concept of Demand Response (DR) and mathematical approaches for managing electricity demand through load shifting and related optimization strategies. Prof. Dr. Poom Kumam presented research on optimization methods for systems of linear equations, highlighting approaches including Lasso, Tikhonov regularization, and Elastic Net, with connections to sparse and stable solutions. These presentations reflect the broad research directions of TaCS-CoE, where mathematical theory, computational methods, and optimization are connected to scientific and technological applications.

The participation of TaCS-CoE researchers in the RIMS Workshop also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen international research connections with researchers from Japan and other countries. Through continued participation in international academic activities, TaCS-CoE promotes research collaboration, develops new research directions, and connects mathematical research with the wider global research community.
